Regenerative agriculture is dynamic and holistic. It intertwines many good practices, such as permaculture planning, organic farming, biodynamics, agroforestry, conservation tillage, no-till, and is based on the integrated management of all natural resources.
The Association for Integrated Regenerative Agriculture of Slovenia, upon its establishment, explains it as follows: "Regenerative agriculture is based on the changed paradigm that humans are an inseparable part of nature and that through agricultural production, while taking into account natural patterns and processes as much as possible, they can make a positive contribution to the entirety of nature. In this, it differs from so-called sustainable approaches that aim only to avoid causing harm or to reduce harm to the environment."
The main goal of regenerative agriculture is to restore natural and agricultural ecosystems, with an emphasis on soil health and improving their biological activity. The integration of different plant and livestock species plays a key role in this process, which helps to mimic natural cycles. This way of farming encourages the self-renewal power of nature.

Every farm is different, so farmers approach it differently. Each farm manager follows their own "holistic context." They do not adhere to a set of rigid rules, but rather, through observation and testing, develop practices that allow for greater adaptability to the specific environment, thereby increasing the resilience and robustness of the agricultural ecosystem.
Regenerative agriculture, as already described, is a combination of good practices and is a fairly new concept in Slovenia, or rather, it is still being defined, so it does not yet have a specific certification process that would provide consumers with confidence and security. Thus, warnings about caution and the possibility of green deception are completely appropriate.
For greater transparency, regenerative agriculture is striving for what is called "human certification." Regenerative farms have a personal relationship with their customers, who are always welcome to see how the farm operates and judge for themselves whether they can trust their products.
